Poliziano 2014 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano (D.O.C.G.) $21.24-$24.99, 90 points, poured an impenetrable ruby red with a broad clear wine ring and medium fat legs.
Aromatic mulling spices, lavender, and black cherry were outstanding.
Medium-plus body with mouthwatering acidity and uniform fine-grain tannins carried straight-forward flavors of earth and truffles garnished by violets and cherry cola nuanced with mint and licorice.
The intensifying palate finished long touching down on easy pepper spices, fig, and a well-balanced 13.5% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with our pepperoni pizza.
