Château Violette Moulis-en-Médoc Grand Vin De 2015 Bordeaux Red Wine, $17.99-$19.99, 90 points, poured core ruby red grading more a purple/red toward the broad clear wine ring and glass bowl heavily ladened with stained tears.
Smells of earthy black fruit, red raspberry, and a whiff of sea-breeze were excellent.
Near medium-bodied (a bit tight to austere) with good acidity and fine grainy tannins managed to highlight the red raspberry and black fruit flavors.
Finished well with white pepper, mulling spices, oak notes, fig, and a balanced 13.5% alcohol.
Varietals were 51% Cabernet Sauvignon and 49% Merlot.
Paired fine with my baked cheddar and bacon potato skins.
