Marina Cvetic 2014 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo (DOC), $14.44-$28.99, 89 points, poured a blackish purple/red (almost Shiraz-like) with a clear wine ring and moderate stained legs.
Amazingly stable aromas of dusty boysenberry jam nuanced with dark chocolate, sweet cinnamon, and red cherry were welcoming.
Near full-bodied with good acidity and a comfortable plank of tannin managed to deliver a rather earthy array of black fruit, plum, truffle, and black tea.
Finished on a rather prolonged rendition of the palate, quite dry, and tasty with a robust 14% alcohol.
Paired okay with our pepperoni pizza.
